Weir Arabian Metals Company (WEIR)
Weir Arabian Metals Company (WEIR) is an engineering and general machining company that is located in the Dammam Second Industrial City. It is a joint venture between AMCO and Weir Group PLC, based out of the UK, with over 125 years of experience in rotating equipment and Advance Parts Solutions. AMCO was the name of the company that was founded in 1977 primarily to serve the oil field industry in the eastern region of Saudi Arabia. Today, the Joint Venture operates two adjacent sites with a combined area of 35,000 square meters and is commonly refer to as AMCO-WEIR.
The company has service contracts with key customers in Saudi Arabia and in other neighboring Gulf countries who rely on the availability of our engineering and heavy machining services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They are one of the largest facilities in Saudi Arabia for the repair and manufacture of oil field tubular equipment and tubular accessories. It was the first facility in the Middle East to earn API-certification in valve and wellhead manufacturing and provides high-quality valves, wellhead components and certified replacement parts. The machining division operates a wide variety of manual and automated machines for turning and grinding ball valves and provides comprehensive welding, fabrication, heat treatment, coating and overlay processes. WIER is capable of manufacturing small parts with a high degree of precision and can repair or fabricate components up to 15 tons.
